Day & Zimmermann is currently accepting resumes for consideration for an onsite I&C Coordinator in Salem, NJ for the Spring outage.

Position Summary

The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all instrumentation and control-related work activities on a nuclear site to support outage execution, maintenance, and technical operations. This role ensures that all I&C tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with nuclear regulatory standards, site procedures, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage I&C work packages, including permits, system isolations, testing, calibrations, and equipment installations across assigned site areas.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for I&C tasks, working with technicians, engineers, operations, maintenance/planning, and other disciplines to maintain workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure strict compliance with nuclear safety procedures, radiological controls, regulatory requirements, and internal quality assurance processes for all I&C activities.
  • Track progress on assigned I&C work fronts, identify schedule risks or technical issues, and escalate appropriately to leadership or supervisory personnel.
  • Review and clarify technical documentation such as drawings, specifications, control schematics, and procedural requirements for field teams.
  • Support outage and non-outage planning activities by preparing readiness checklists, coordinating logistics for I&C crews, and aligning resource needs in advance of execution.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining records related to completed work, regulatory compliance, and work package closeout documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in I&C or electrical roles, ideally within the nuclear industry (maintenance, outage support, or operations).
  • Strong understanding of nuclear electrical isolation rules, instrumentation systems, control logic basics, and related regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely within controlled and radiological areas.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating I&C activities during planned outages or major maintenance periods.
  • Familiarity with nuclear codes and standards (e.g., ISA, IEEE, NRC guidance) and QA program requirements.
  • Planning and scheduling experience with nuclear outage planning tools and work management systems.

Will need to meet any training, drug/alcohol, and/or background screening elements required to obtain unescorted access at a secure facility.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $95,000- $171,000.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).

This will be a temporary assignment and company benefits will not be available. This position is eligible for The Day & Zimmermann Retirement Plan for Contract Employees. This is a 401(k) plan available to full-time, part-time and temporary employees who are classified as Contractor and Temporary employee.
