Position Summary

The Product Systems Engineer provides advanced technical support for computerized operations within a data center or centralized network environment. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, systems, and related infrastructure. The engineer also monitors system performance and utilization metrics, including supporting the integration of new equipment.

Applying professional-level technical expertise and judgment, the Product Systems Engineer delivers non-routine technical support to ensure the reliability and efficiency of computer and data center operations.

Key responsibilities include maintaining access controls, ensuring data integrity, and safeguarding file system security across the environment. The role involves monitoring, tracking, and documenting system performance metrics, as well as effectively communicating complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additionally, the engineer recommends process improvements and hardware or software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to enhance overall system efficiency. This position may also contribute to broader IT and infrastructure development initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, upgrade, and maintain VMware vCenter and ESXi infrastructure to ensure stability and performance.

  • Support and troubleshoot Windows Server environments across multiple gaming data center and remote locations.

  • Perform server installations, upgrades, patching, and security remediation activities.

  • Design, manage, and monitor backup and replication strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Conduct routine daily and weekly analysis of server infrastructure health and performance.

  • Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure business continuity.

  • Create diagnostic scripts to support troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Build automation scripts to streamline and optimize routine operational tasks.

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including Visio diagrams of complex infrastructure deployments.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other members of the Systems Engineering team.

  • Partner with Internal Audit to maintain compliance with all regulatory and gaming requirements.

  • Deliver root cause analysis reports for major system incidents to leadership.

  • Conduct periodic vulnerability scans and implement remediation efforts.

  • Design and deploy security solutions to protect enterprise systems and sensitive data.

  • Perform risk assessments to identify system vulnerabilities and potential security threats.

  • Monitor and respond to security events, including incident containment and resolution.

  • Stay current on emerging security trends, threats, and technologies to strengthen the organization's security posture.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, networking, development, and security teams to integrate security across all systems and operations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, WMI, and MS Clustering.

  • Strong expertise in VMware virtualization technologies.

  • Intermediate proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.

  • Working knowledge of SQL query concepts.

  • Advanced understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) principles.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex Windows OS environments.

  • Knowledge of SAN technologies and administration (3PAR, NetApp, Pure Storage, FC/iSCSI).

  • Experience with enterprise system management tools such as SolarWinds, WSUS, Zerto, CrowdStrike, Tanium, and VMware tools.

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud environments.

  • Experience developing systems policies and operational procedures.

  • Strong understanding of automation principles and process optimization.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required gaming licenses upon hire.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume, and regulated environment.

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
