File Clerk Opening! Are you organized, curious, and excited by the idea of working behind the scenes with media history? Our client is looking for a detail-oriented, entry-level File Clerk to support their archivist in organizing and digitizing a large collection of legacy materials. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to break into media, archives, or public broadcasting while building valuable, hands-on experience. You'll play a key role in transforming decades of tapes and digital files into an organized, accessible archive-helping preserve content for future generations. What You'll Do * Inventory and organize boxes of physical media (tapes) and digital files stored on hard drives * Log and track materials in a centralized database * Search for, locate, and verify specific assets across multiple storage locations * Cross-reference information from various data sources to ensure accuracy * Perform structured, repetitive administrative tasks using office tools-especially Excel * Work independently and manage your own workflow once training is complete Who You Are * Comfortable with general office tools and computer software * Detail-oriented and patient-you don't mind repetitive tasks when accuracy matters * Bright, dependable, and eager to learn * Able to work independently and stay organized without constant supervision * Entry-level experience welcome-this is truly a "foot in the door" role Nice to Have (But Not Required) * Experience or interest in media, film studies, archives, or broadcast * Passion for public broadcasting or media preservation * Familiarity with handling digital files, media assets, or databases Why This Role Is Special * Hands-on experience with real archival and media materials * Exposure to archival workflows, digitization, and asset management * A great starting point for careers in media, archives, libraries, or broadcasting * Autonomy and trust once you're up to speed * Meaningful work preserving valuable historical content If you're organized, curious, and excited about working with media history-even behind the scenes-we'd love to hear from you. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
