The Ink Room Technician is responsible for the contents and condition of all ink room equipment, supplies and processes.

1st Shift, 7am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain ink inventory
  • Coordinate and order ink with the Production
  • Mount all plates for upcoming jobs
  • Maintain the plate inventory, tooling, folding boards & perf blades
  • Coordinate and order printing plates with the Production
  • Perform anilox cleaning in accordance with the approved schedule
  • Perform minor repairs to anilox, cavities and all other printing components
  • Establish and maintain printing press gear and sleeve inventory
  • Coordinate and order printing press gears, sleeves and any other mechanical components with Production
  • Monitor and setup the removal of waste material in the ink room
  • Establish and maintain the printing supplies such as pumps, hoses, sticky back with the assistance of Production
  • Repair and maintain all spare printing cavities
  • Perform weekly inspections of in-press cavities to determine repair requirement
  • Perform weekly cycle counts to ensure inventories are at or above par levels
  • Create change over kit to supply to production as needed
  • Perform periodic ink testing at the presses
  • Maintain the ink room to 6S standards for housekeeping
  • Practice safe behavior with regards to equipment and task
  • Provide hands-on training to machine operators when it comes to press related matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Qualifications:
  • Must be capable of reading work instructions
  • Must be capable of reading and adhering to safety rules
  • Must be capable of reading a ruler
  • Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment
  • Must be capable of maintaining good attendance
  • Must have previous printing press knowledge
  • Minimum of 2 years of flexographic printing press operation required

  • None
Skills/Competencies
  • Must be able to understand and read English with good interpersonal skills
  • Must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.
  • Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices
  • Must be capable of using a computer to perform data entry and printing functions - required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - preferred

  • Work is performed by using both hands and arms while in a standing position, including frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling for a minimum of an eight hour shift.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist on a regular basis, and 70 lbs as team lifts.
