MaineHealth PrePT Internship Program

Program Overview
The MaineHealth PrePhysical Therapy Internship Program provides an immersive, oneyear, paid experience designed for recent college graduates preparing to apply to Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs. This internship offers handson exposure to orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation while working directly with an integrated team of therapists, athletic trainers, physicians, and surgeons.

Candidates are selected through an interview process and will begin their oneyear commitment in May of the specified year.

Position Summary

The Rehabilitation Aide provides essential support to licensed therapy staff within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Responsibilities include maintaining and stocking equipment, cleaning treatment areas, managing inventory, and transporting patients. While aides have primary assigned areas, they are expected to support broader clinic operations as needed, including assisting with billing tasks, entering orders, and performing other clerical duties.

Under the supervision of licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, Rehabilitation Aides may also assist with patient treatment and exercise setup.
