Description

Responsible for the operation of the print shop and mailroom and supervision of the associated staff. Continuous review of the Print Shop and Mailroom capabilities and aligning those capabilities to the strategic direction of the College. Staff development for all employees working in the Print Shop and Mailroom. Evaluation and recommendations on new and upgraded printing and mailing technologies and processes to the Director of Auxiliary Services.


Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ensure all pre-flighting preparation and printing of Print jobs meet customer's specifications.
  2. Schedule and assign print shop and mailroom tasks.
  3. Ensure all outgoing mail is processed timely and in the most cost effective manner.
  4. Ensure all incoming mail is processed and distributed timely and accurately.
  5. Produce daily printing jobs as a working supervisor
  6. Provide customer quotes and adjust digital storefront pricing as necessary
  7. Determine appropriate pricing for merchandise and services and bill customers (internal and external) accordingly.
  8. Evaluate and upgrade equipment to insure efficient operations and use of improved technologies.
  9. Inventory control and order supplies.
  10. Control and monitor budget on a regular basis.
  11. Evaluate analyze and make recommendations for expanded services for on and off campus facilities
  12. Evaluate analyze and negotiate maintenance contracts.
  13. Regular communication with areas of the college to promote and improve services the print shop and mailroom.
  14. Short and long range planning of the print shop mailroom services and central receiving
  15. Hire supervise evaluate direct and instruct all personnel in the print shop mailroom.
  16. Supervise college courier and coordinate all campus deliveries
  17. Serve as a liaison to external customers and coordinate job production and completion
  18. Maintain campus print initiate to monitor and centralize all printing to achieve savings.
  19. Responsible for maintaining all contracts and maintenance of fleet copiers for Department of Corrections.
  20. Other related duties as assigned.

Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience Requirements:
    Combination of relevant training and/or experience totaling a minimum of five years.

Knowledge:
    Background in printing and graphics arts applications in either business or education. Manual dexterity, ability to use complex machinery, ability to trouble shoot high tech equipment, ability to evaluate and analyze photocopying equipment.

Skills:

Personal Requirements:
    Ability to relate to and work with administration, faculty, staff and students.
