Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Senior Information Technology Audit Analyst (Financial Analysis, Senior Associate) supporting a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client in Washington, DC. The Senior IT Audit Analyst will provide expert support for IT audit remediation, serve as audit request liaison, and provide IT controls expertise to address findings from annual financial statement, internal control, OIG, and GAO audits.

This position currently requires a hybrid schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

This position is currently unfunded and is being posted in anticipation of a future contract award and funding approval. We are proactively identifying and engaging with qualified candidates. While candidates may be contacted for pre-screening, any hiring decisions will be contingent upon funding availability and final program requirements or client approval.

Responsibilities

  • Support IT audit remediation activities for IT audit findings from internal and external assessments
  • Serve as audit request liaison between program offices, system owners, and internal/external auditors for IT-related audit requests
  • Conduct thorough reviews of IT audit conditions, findings, and gaps; perform root cause analyses and develop recommendations for system owners and program offices
  • Assist in the development and critical review of Mission Action Plans (MAPs) for IT audit findings
  • Review IT remediation deliverables for efficiency of IT control design, relevance, and sufficiency
  • Consult with the client on IT corrective actions, process improvements, cybersecurity considerations, risk management, and implementation of IT remediation activities
  • Assist with MAP closeout process by validating effective implementation of IT corrective actions
  • Monitor day-to-day operations of MAP implementation for IT controls
  • Provide technical knowledge and recommendations based on DHS policies, NIST guidelines, Information Technology systems audit standards, and industry best practices
  • Develop requirements, tools, policies and charters to support IT audit remediation efforts
  • Utilize analytical tools to provide client recommendations, identify IT control trends and anomalies, and brief management
  • Perform extensive reviews of deliverables to analyze the design and efficacy of IT process controls and security controls

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience performing financial/IT audits, internal control reviews, or audit readiness functions, of which at least 5 years must be federal government experience
  • Experience auditing federal agencies' IT systems and controls or performing IT audit readiness work in the Department of Homeland Security directly in support of an audit readiness task order
  • Knowledge of current federal IT policies and regulations including NIST guidelines (NIST 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework), FISMA requirements, and information systems audit standards
  • Current knowledge of IT control frameworks to ensure internal controls are effectively addressed
  • Expertise in designing proper internal controls for IT processes, systems, and security controls
  • Detail-oriented, especially in the creation and review of IT control working papers and remediation deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to serve as liaison with IT auditors and respond to technical audit requests professionally and timely
  • Ability to maintain timelines, meet deadlines and prioritize, to handle multiple IT audit tasks simultaneously
  • Strong MS Office skills (SharePoint, PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired Qualifications

  • DHS-specific IT audit remediation experience
  • CISA, CISSP, CGFM, or other relevant IT audit or security certification
  • Knowledge of federal IT systems, cloud environments, and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Experience with IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls testing

For this position, the projected compensation range is $115,000 - $170,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
