8hr-3rd Shift (United States of America) Altium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging. We specialize in customized mid- and short-run packaging solutions and serve a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.

We are currently seeking an experienced PET/Injection Mold Lead in Sherman, TX. The Lead will help the Production Supervisor by providing direction and support to employees in Injection Molding, Blow Molding, and/or Reheat Stretch team while driving compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, such as Safety, Quality and GMP.

  • Act as a Change Agent, using appropriate modes of communication and overseeing change management, such as learning new skills, changes in customer or business needs, or shift changes and overtime.

  • Use consistency and integrity in dealings with all employees, policy compliance, company relationships, and company data and performance.

  • Drive retention by fostering morale and employee engagement.

  • In conjunction with the Production Supervisor, champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior.

  • Helps lead and drive safety culture and improvements to achieve a zero-incident environment.

  • Monitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; take corrective action.

  • Operate machines as needed

  • Communicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, job orders, and company policies.

  • Lead improvement initiatives to increase production, reduce downtime, and reduce waste.

  • Drive value creation by improving current systems and procedures and lead continuous improvement activities.

  • Provide feedback to Production Supervisor or Manager concerning employee performance and behavior.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent

  • Prefer an apprenticeship and/or formal training in the area of specialty

  • 1-3 years PET/Injection Machine operation

  • 2-3 years' experience in a Lead or Supervisory role

  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)

  • Machine maintenance

  • Basic mathematical and computer experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are required

  • Physical stamina and strength/able to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to work overtime

WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
