Function:

Corporate Development Job Summary:This role is responsible for the development and execution of CF's enterprise strategy and governance related to greenhouse gas reduction projects, low carbon attribute generation, certification, and sales. The person will need to partner with the CF Public Affairs, Sales, and Business Development teams to support their initiatives, inform market development and guide policy initiatives in support of CF's strategy. This person will also lead development and management of relationships with third party services providers needed to realize our greenhouse gas reduction goals. Job Description:
  • Directs development and oversee the implementation of internal policy and business systems related to low carbon product attribute generation, transactions, and management across the CF organization to support clean energy business objectives.
  • Informs key internal stakeholders on the mechanics of applicable global policy and certification schemes and how they apply to CF commercial activities.
  • Represents CF on committees of select third party organizations (e.g. certification) to achieve program alignment with CF's business strategy.
  • Monitors low carbon product and environmental attribute generation and consumption to build an overall sales plan.
  • Ensures implemented decarbonization projects are certified and/or registered to allow for low carbon product and attribute sales into target sales channels
  • Oversees the commercial development and negotiation of contracts for third-party services and infrastructure (CCS, hydrogen, nitrogen, etc.) required to support new clean energy opportunities.
  • Monitors business outcomes of decarbonization projects across the organization, identifies opportunities for improvement, and reports to management on a periodic basis.
  • Oversees execution by carbon capture and storage providers providing services to CF facilities addressing deviations and contract changes as needed.
  • Provides oversight of and maintains key business relationships with potential CCS developers, renewable power developers, low carbon natural gas providers and similar companies to help advance future GHG emissions reduction opportunities
  • Represents CF Industries as a global leader in the clean energy industry including contributing to the development of regulatory policy position papers and presenting at industry conferences and trade show events.
  • Works CF Operations to maintain the company's greenhouse gas reduction roadmap in line with goals and to capture upcoming low carbon business opportunities.
  • Leverages knowledge to contribute to the evolution of CF's clean energy strategy, including participation in the annual strategic planning process.

Successful incumbents will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or business field is required; an MBA is desirable
  • 10 years of progressively more complex work experience in some combination of business operations or engineering at CF, or a comparable industrial gas or infrastructure company
  • A demonstrated ability to independently identify and develop new solutions
  • Ability to lead others in a matrixed reporting relationship through influence and persuasion and resolve conflict.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning and time management skills
  • Strong analytical background to accurately evaluate, summarize and present complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated abilities to take initiative, create new opportunities, and operate in an emerging clean energy technologies environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties
  • Willingness to travel as needed to engage with internal and external project teams and build relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office Suite

Position Scope/Contribution:

CF Industries' strategy is to leverage the Company's unique capabilities to accelerate the world's transition to clean energy. The Clean Energy Solutions department is focused on efforts to decarbonize the Company's production network, scale the Company's ability to produce low-carbon and zero-carbon fuels, and position CF Industries at the forefront of clean hydrogen and ammonia supply and demand development. This position will be key to development of these new markets, that require building relationships with potential partners in the marine, energy, and technology industries and developing novel project concepts to respond to global decarbonization initiatives. Carbon capture, low/no carbon hydrogen, and clean energy related technologies are evolving rapidly. This position will lead the Company's effort understanding relevant technologies and their expected evolution, working with the management team to evolve the Company's strategy accordingly, and developing new opportunities to leverage our knowledge and assets. Ability to obtain and use knowledge to contribute to the continuously evolving environment will be key to success in this position.

Estimated base pay for the position is typically between: $165,000 - $232,200.

The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.

In addition to base pay, an incentive program is available to all full-time employees, and a comprehensive benefits package including two medical plan options, a health savings plan with a company contribution and a match, dental and vision benefits, a well-being incentive program, 401(k) Plan which provides a potential of receiving between 10% and 13% of employer's contribution, life and disability insurance, paid time off programs and much more!
