Cypress Creek Hospital is a talented and dynamic Director of Clinical Services to join our dedicated team of behavioral health professionals!

The Director of Clinical Services assumes responsibility for the functioning of the Clinical Services Department (Inpatient), and the quality of social services provided through policies, procedures, PI, and the supervision of licensed clinical therapists and interns. Develops and serves as a liaison with social work graduate program. Serves as clinical liaison with the continuum of care services. Contributes to the development of programs for specialized patient populations for inpatient and the continuum of care. In conjunction with community resources, contributes to the maintenance of relationships with outside agencies, private practitioners, insurers, and family members. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's specific needs and provide clinical treatment and care.

Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the CEO/Managing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure standards set by each accrediting body (TJC, state, etc.) and hospital administration are met.
  • Supervise staff clinical performance and collaborate with the CEO and CNO to ensure clinical practices and standards of patient care are met.
  • Ensure that a PI plan exists and is implemented and reports to the PI Committee as required.
  • Participate in committee meetings as assigned by the CEO.
  • Maintain maintain good relationships with medical staff, patients, families, regulatory agencies, and state department of health.
  • Holds regular meetings of the department and ensures clinical staff are advised of programmatic changes and operational goals.
  • Participates in the Facility's AOC rotation.
  • Anticipates problems and plans ways to avoid them.
  • Provides direct clinical services based upon department needs.
  • When needed completes the Social Work Admission, Assessment, Treatment Team and Discharge, and AMA process on the units.
  • Develops, maintains, communicates, and implements policies and procedures for the provision of social work services that are consistent with hospital objectives and accrediting bodies (TJC, state, etc.).
  • Contributes to improving quality services and productivity (takes the initiative to continually evaluate one's work, report problems, suggest solutions, and try new ideas).
  • Exhibits flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the patients and the units.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
  • Trains new clinical staff and interns.

Qualifications

Director of Clinical Services Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health or a related field is required.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in inpatient psychiatric/mental health field. Leadership experience preferred.

License: Texas Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of Handle with Care (crisis management) and CPR required. A strong knowledge of TJC, patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
