As a Principal Software Engineer on the Azure Boost Non-Volatile Memory Express solid-state drive (NVMe SSD) team, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced engineering solutions that aim to improve storage performance, enhance platform reliability, and reduce cost of goods sold at cloud scale. You will have the opportunity to apply the latest developments in Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) technologies, such as PCIe Generation 5 and beyond, to architect and deliver next-generation Azure Boost SSD solutions that meet the performance demands of large-scale cloud workloads. In this role, you will mentor a team of engineers, promote technical excellence, and encourage innovation while designing solutions that offload NVMe SSD functionality into emerging silicon platforms. You will also collaborate with hardware, firmware, and platform teams to shape the future of Azure's storage infrastructure, delivering scalable, low-latency storage solutions capable of supporting millions of input/output operations per second per virtual machine. Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
