Owens Corning's Global Information Services (GIS) provides a technology platform that supports the company's growing global business needs. The Infrastructure Engineer - Connectivity is a key member of the Global Infrastructure & Operations (GIO) organization and is responsible the performance, implementation, and engineering of connectivity platforms and solutions. This engineer role will focus on partnering across GIS, GIO, and with our operations partner to drive business value through execution and problem-solving. The Infrastructure Engineer - Connectivity focuses on engineering excellence, platform lifecycle management, and proactive improvement initiatives. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining platform integrity, supporting project delivery, and driving continuous improvement across enterprise connectivity platforms. This includes an understanding of core networking platforms and technologies spanning wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), wireless networks (WiFi), software-defined networking (SDN), IP address management (IPAM), and other key connectivity domains. Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Owens Corning specific business processes and operations locally and globally
- Build relationships within the organization, cross-functionally, and with key business stakeholders; continuously enhance connection to remain aligned with core objectives
- Understand how IT infrastructure and services are directly aligned with the company's strategic objectives by regularly engaging with vendors and key business stakeholders focused on distributed, enterprise, and cloud technologies and solutions
Executing Strategy Platform Health & Lifecycle Management
- Assist in monitoring and assessing the health, capacity, and performance of connectivity platforms, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and mitigating risks
- Provide technical guidance throughout the lifecycle of connectivity platforms - including patching, upgrades, and refresh strategies for the region
- Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to design and implement enhancements that significantly improve reliability, efficiency, and supportability of connectivity platforms
Engineering & Optimization
- Assist in establishing and maintaining engineering standards, templates, and automation for consistent platform deployment and configuration
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to further optimize connectivity environments, working closely with the Enterprise Services Team
- Participate in incident resolution, assisting in root cause analysis and implementing robust, long-term corrective actions for connectivity related incidents
- Lead small-to-medium scale projects and platform upgrades, ensuring minimal business disruption and clear communication with all stakeholders
- Integrate security controls and compliance requirements seamlessly into platform design and operations
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation scripts or workflows to streamline and improve efficiency for repetitive tasks
- Contribute to capacity planning and forecasting, recommending infrastructure adjustments based on in-depth analysis of historical trends and future business projections
Project & Initiative Support
- Act as a technical lead and subject matter expert for infrastructure-related projects and initiatives within the region
- Ensure new applications and services are onboarded efficiently and that connectivity platforms are fully aligned with evolving business needs
- Participate actively in capacity planning and infrastructure design reviews
Collaboration & Influence
- Work in close partnership with infrastructure operations, security, and application teams to ensure cohesive and reliable platform management
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of platform configurations, standards, and engineering decisions for the region
- Contribute meaningfully to governance processes by reviewing proposed changes, assessing risks, and ensuring ongoing compliance with enterprise policies and standards
- Build and foster a strong partnership with global leaders and stakeholders

- Identify areas of waste (process, time, etc.) and ideate and execute action plans to create productivity
- Lead or participate in special projects that support the long-term strategic goals of the business and/or organization
- Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness, value, and perception of the function

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in connectivity architecture, with a focus on enterprise-scale environments
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning
- Experience working and managing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to drive positive outcomes
- Experience interacting at multiple levels of an organization with a specific focus on delivering results and strong communication skills
- Experienced with IT policies and procedures, methodologies, technology standards, protocols, roadmaps, services, and operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proven track record of providing technical consultation and collaboration
- Knowledge of core connectivity platforms and technologies including WAN, LAN, Wifi, and SDN
- Understanding of IPAM, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Domain Name System (DNS) and how these impact enterprise environments
- Proven ability to partner globally and build relationships with leaders and stakeholders across a region
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting for infrastructure management (e.g., Ansible)
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its efficient usage in infrastructure environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
- Effective communication and collaboration across technical and business teams
- Ability to manage priorities and contribute to multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter with a sense of curiosity and desire to continuously learn and grow
- Ability to collaborate and demonstrate a team-oriented partnership with a focus on delivering results
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally as required (10-20%)
