Summary Baptist Health Floyd is seeking motivated nursing students for a Nurse Extern role. Nurse externs collaborate closely with nursing staff to practice nursing skills and provide direct patient care. The extern role provides an opportunity to build foundational skills while in nursing school to help with the transition into nursing practice upon graduation.Job Description: Our multi-level Nurse Extern Program provides hands-on clinical experience with built-in opportunities for career growth. Participants work alongside nurses, nursing assistants, leadership, and allied health professionals, with the chance to shadow a variety of healthcare roles. On-the-job training is provided for all experience levels. Any student who has been accepted to nursing school is invited to apply for the extern program. There are different levels that we can move students between as they progress through their nursing program. Level 1 - Accepted into a nursing program Level 2 - Completion of first nursing class (Fundamentals) Level 3 - Last 6 months of nursing program Application must be submitted by March 31st.
