Full responsibilities and pay will vary depending on the level and classification of the position. Pay ranges will typically be in the $24.43- $32.22 / hour range though higher paying positions may sometimes be available.

TES has current openings for a variety of financial positions. Most positions are full-time, Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm, although part-time positions are sometimes available. DESCRIPTION

Duration: Assignments typically run for approximately 3-6 months.

Compensation: $24.43 to $32.22 per hour depending on experience. Eligible for paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm

Location: On-Site - On campus in La Jolla.

The incumbent is responsible for the performance of transactional duties. Will use and maintain one or more general accounting systems. Under the finance team lead direction incumbent will gather data to prepare financial reports and projections for approximately thirty million dollars and various departmental funds. Reconcile expenditures with UC San Diego general ledgers. Produce ad hoc reports as required. Participate in the department budgeting and financial closing processes. Prepares budget adjustments, cost transfers, and expense transfers as prescribed by internal budget and finance protocols as well as following UC San Diego accounting policies and procedures. Uses professional accounting concepts. Applies established accounting practices and procedures in analyzing and reporting accounting data. Normally receives detailed instructions on accounting assignments. Contact with others is primarily internal; some contact with outside reporting agencies and / or accounting / financial resources. Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Accounting experience

  • Medical Billing needed for some of our positions

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Time Management/organizational skills/Multitasking

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to gather, organize, and perform basic accounting-related analysis to complete work assignments.

  • Basic knowledge of financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Basic knowledge of common desktop/web applications

  • Excel skills; proven ability using spreadsheets and database software for financials analysis.

  • Ability to function as a member of a team.

  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of UC San Diego systems and applications.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $51,000 - $84,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $24.43 - $40.61
