Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of a broad range of Technology and Business consulting services. We are in search of a highly motivated candidate to join our talented Team. Job Title: Construction Planner I. Location(s): Gainesville, FL. Position Summary:
  • The Construction Planner I supports the Market Expansion Team by performing entry-level field engineering coordination and administrative project planning functions.
  • This role focuses heavily on cost estimation, budgeting, workflow tracking, and documentation management to ensure cost-effective and timely project execution.
  • The position is administrative in nature with cross-functional coordination responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field engineering support for proposed projects and evaluate cost-effective routing solutions.
  • Estimate construction, material, and labor costs; prepare budgets and track expenses.
  • Support revenue forecasting, capital and expense budget planning, and material forecasting.
  • Verify serviceability and survey proposed service routes.
  • Coordinate customer implementation activities including site walk-throughs and node placements.
  • Coordinate contractor work and assist in securing permits, access agreements, or ROW (Right-of-Way) approvals.
  • Distribute design prints and working documentation; track and manage project workflow databases.
  • Research project plans, gather required data, and compile material requirements.
  • Coordinate with public works, utilities, developers, commercial customers, and building owners on joint trench projects.
  • Assist with material ordering and invoice reconciliation.
  • Support fiber allocation planning for splicing and activation.
  • Inspect or coordinate construction inspections as needed.
  • Close out completed projects in system tools, reconcile assets, and generate completion reports.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (construction planning, telecom, utilities, or related industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience:
    • Estimating construction costs and preparing budgets.
    • Managing and forecasting revenue, capital, and expense budgets.
    • Verifying serviceability and estimating material, construction, and labor costs.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel (cost tracking, spreadsheets, forecasting).
    • Microsoft Word.
    • Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment under supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry experience in telecommunications, utilities, or construction.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies.
  • Experience supporting Market Expansion or infrastructure build projects.

  • Entry-level support role.
  • Performs routine and structured tasks with supervision.
  • Works within clearly defined procedures and guidelines.
  • Limited independent decision-making; escalates non-routine issues.
