The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) or Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider with work experience in level III NICU to join our Level IV academic NICU at a tertiary care children's hospital. The successful candidate will become an integral member of a multidisciplinary neonatal team that provides comprehensive care to critically ill and extremely premature infants while supporting robust neonatal fellowship and residency training programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine high-acuity clinical practice, medical education, and academic engagement in a collaborative, evidence-driven environment.

Clinical Environment:

  • Level IV NICU with regional referral base
  • Care of extremely low birth weight infants and complex neonatal conditions, including:
    • Extreme prematurity
    • Neonatal surgical conditions
    • ECMO, HFOV, advanced ventilation strategies
    • Therapeutic hypothermia
    • Complex congenital anomalies
  • Close collaboration with neonatology faculty and other pediatric subspecialties, including pediatric surgery, cardiology, neurology, and genetics.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Education and experience in accordance with local, state and federal requirements
  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License
  • RN License and NP Certification (if NP)
  • NCCPA (if PA)
  • CDS and DEA
  • Current specialty specific national certification through the National Certification Corporation
  • Current NRP and BLS certification as required by specialty practice
  • Current prescriptive authority per state regulation
  • Clinical privileges at healthcare facilities as applicable

Preferred

  • Experience in NICU (Highly motivated candidates without NICU experience will be considered)
  • Interest in academic medicine, education, or quality improvement
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

    Shift/Schedule:

    • Flexible scheduling option from 8-12h based on unit and individual needs
    • Full time
    • Days/Nights
    • Weekend and holiday rotation

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Provide advanced neonatal care including admission, daily management, procedures, and family-centered care
    • Participate in delivery room resuscitations, including high-risk deliveries
    • Perform neonatal procedures (e.g., intubation, umbilical line placement, arterial lines; others per training and credentialing)
    • Collaborate with attending neonatologists, fellows, residents, bedside nurses, and allied health professionals
    • Actively participate in education and supervision of neonatal fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students
    • Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice based on individual interest.
    • Participation in scholarly activity, education, or research is encouraged based on individual interest and career goals.
    • Responsible for maintaining current clinical and procedural competence
    • Maintains compliance with all hospital medical staff, office rules and regulations
