This position has been accreted into the UPTE-HX bargaining unit and will be represented by UPTE-HX moving forward. The Behavioral Health Counselor (provider) provides all aspects of psychosocial, mental, and behavioral health services, including primarily brief short-term individual and group therapy, diagnostic evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, care coordination, and case management. The provider works closely with clinical and administrative leadership to improve access to care and foster collaboration across UCSD Health departments and programs. This role also oversees case management procedures and coordination to ensure patients are effectively connected to psychosocial and community resources. Additionally, the provider serves as liaison with other providers in primary care as well as in other departments, and participates as a key member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
