Overview

Waters has an exciting opportunity for a manufacturing, Cost Accountant to provide accounting information systems support to the Global TA Operations organization. As a department, the Global TA Operations Finance team provides accounting, reporting, and management analysis support for the Manufacturing operations and Facilities within TA Division. The Cost Accountant will report to the Senior Plant Controller and will collaborate closely with finance and IT teams as well as operations business partners across the organization.



Responsibilities

    Overview:

    We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Cost Accountant who will be a key member of the plant operations finance team for the development, analysis, and reporting of standard costing and P&L results in SAP for TA Instruments plants among the global Waters network.

    Responsibilities and Requirements:

    • Work with procurement, planning, and manufacturing operations departments on the development, implementation and analysis of proper SAP material master data, product costing module configurations, BOM's and routings
    • Assist the TA annual cost roll process and actively collaborate with stakeholders in cross-functional departments to drive favorable results and maintain compliance with internal controls
    • Work within TA plant operations toward an improved, scalable product costing model in SAP ECC bridged to S4 that enables understanding of manufacturing costs and inventory values
    • Take an active role in the testing associated with material and costing data for S4 Hana implementation and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Provide support for year-end costing activities - release of standard costs, transfer pricing updates, and inventory revaluation
    • Analyze manufacturing costs, identify efficiency improvement opportunities, and deliver actionable insights to drive profitability.
    • Conduct variance analysis, proactively communicate drivers of unfavorable/favorable results, and prepare management reporting packages
    • Complete month-end close journal entries, reporting tasks, and SOX Controls under the Plant Controller


Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of experience in Cost Accounting within a multi-site manufacturing company
  • Experience analyzing production-related credits and variances, including Absorption, Material Burden, PPV, and Production Variance
  • SAP ECC, S4 Hana, or similar ERP finance and costing module experience
  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to constructively interact with a variety of business partners and ERP consultants
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Advanced Excel, data analysis, SAP ECC/S4 Hana, Analysis for Office, Power BI experience strongly preferred
