Job Announcement

Under general supervision provide the results of criminal history searches to the requesting magistrate, probation staff, police department order or other official criminal justice agency. Maintains accurate file systems and updates defendant records as required by the agency. Verifies the results of completed pretrial defendant questionnaires for content and accuracy via telephone. Provides case entry and retrieval for general district court, probation and court appointed attorney assignments. Reviews warrants and prepares other court case documents for pick-up and processing.


The assigned functional area is office administration.

Schedule: This position has a rotating 10-hour shift: 4 days a week:
  • Rotation Week 1 - Monday - Thursday 8:30 pm- 6:30 am;
  • Rotation Week 2- Sunday - Wednesday 10:30 am- 8:30 pm;
  • Rotation Week 3- Thursday - Saturday 10:30 am -8:30 pm and Sunday 8:30 pm - 6:30 am.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and one year of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
VCIN CERTIFICATION (Required within 6 months)

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and experience of general office administration procedures and record/file management.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office computer software, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with databases.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
  • All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview and may include a practical exercise.
