The Institutional Product Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that advance ACS Publications' comprehensive portfolio of publications, products, and services to libraries, academic institutions, corporations, and government organizations worldwide. This includes marketing subscription access to our online journals, ebooks, industry news platforms, data products, partner publishing services, and a growing pipeline of new offerings.

The team works in close partnership with Field (Revenue) Marketing, which aligns to Sales and drives pipeline progression, as well as Journal Product Marketing, which engages authors with more B2Coriented tactics.

The Opportunity:

ACS Publications is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Product Marketing Manager, Institutional Products to join our dynamic team. This role offers a significant opportunity to influence the success of a leading scientific publisher by shaping and executing strategic marketing initiatives for our institutional offerings.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, strategic thinker and an exceptional communicator with a strong track record in B2B product marketing and new product launches.

Position Summary:

The Senior Product Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans that drive awareness, engagement, and adoption of ACS Publications' institutional products and services. This position requires an advanced understanding of B2B marketing at all phases of the product lifecycle including experience applying Pragmatic or similar frameworks and exceptional written communication skills to craft compelling positioning, messaging, and content.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and plans (in partnership with Field Marketing) across ACS Publications' institutional product portfolio, including online journals, ebooks, news platforms, and data solutions.
  • Lead market research efforts and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and strategic opportunities that inform product lifecycle decisions.
  • Develop differentiated product positioning and messaging that resonates with institutional buyers and clearly articulates the unique value of ACS Publications' offerings.
  • Create high-quality, strategically aligned marketing content used across channels-including website copy, brochures, email campaigns, presentations, advertisements, and case studies-demonstrating exceptional writing and narrative development skills.
  • Lead the planning and execution of new product launches for institutional markets, including defining target audiences, developing launch frameworks, creating supporting materials, and guiding cross-functional teams to successful execution.
  • Partner closely with Field Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on positioning, gotomarket strategies, and sales enablement needs.
  • Manage marketing budgets and define, monitor, and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize marketing investments and support datadriven decision-making.
  • Present marketing strategies, launch plans, and performance insights to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Maintain expertise in industry best practices and emerging trends in B2B marketing and scholarly publishing, and proactively apply these insights.
  • Manage and collaborate with external vendors and agencies as needed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (5-15%) for industry conferences, customer meetings, and other events.


Required Qualifications:

  • Steward marketing budgets and define, monitor, and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize marketing investments and support datadriven decision-making.
  • Present marketing strategies, launch plans, and performance insights to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manage and collaborate with external vendors internal centers of excellence as needed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (5-15%) for industry conferences, customer meetings, and other events.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience developing and/or launching products within scientific services, information services, scholarly publishing, or software-related B2B solutions.
  • Familiarity with marketing in long and complex sales cycles.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms, data platforms, and integrating marketing activities into CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in additional languages.


This role can be based in our Washington, D.C. or Columbus, OH offices. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is



  • For OH, between $95,000-$120,000 per year.
  • For DC, between $105,000-$130,000 per year.
