This involves research in molecular and structural biology of RNA-protein complexes, specifically 7SK RNP and its role in HIV-1 transcription and telomerase. The research scientist must have experience and skill with cell-line engineering by CRISPR-Cas, RNA structure probing experiments such as DMS and SHAPE-Map, protein and RNP purification, experience in bacterial, insect, and human cell culture, immunofluorescence (e.g. RNA FISH), cell reporter experiments, and biochemistry methods. The assistant project scientist will be conducting research, writing manuscripts, and assist in writing research proposals. The assistant project scientist will work independently in designing experiments and determining priorities. The position requires a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
