Director, EMBA/FEMBA Career Strategy and Leadership Development

Position Summary

This position will have primary responsibility for directing all career and professional development activities, resources, and programs for UCLA Anderson's working professionals MBA Programs - Executive MBA and Global Executive MBA Programs, as well as direct some of the leadership development aspects of the Executive MBA program. Specific functions include oversight of all career programming and career resources for these student populations (~1100) as well as serve as the executive career coach for individual career assistance to both student populations. Leadership development responsibilities for the Executive MBA Program include managing process for administering assessments (Birkman and 360), managing the Leadership Speaker Series, and working closely with the EMBA Program deans to identify leadership programming in addition to what students receive in the core curriculum. This role will also have responsibility to oversee the tracking of post-grad career outcomes of FEMBAs comprising quarterly market research for the creation, implementation and reporting of annual US News and World Report and Princeton Review Graduate Surveys. Additionally, this leader will represents (as needed) UCLA Anderson Programs and CSD at events and conferences, serving as the primary spokesperson for Professional MBA career services. The position will oversee and supervise the work of coaches, operations personnel, and any independent contractors associated with both the career and/or leadership development aspects of the EMBA and FEMBA programs, as well as supervise any work-study students. This position is a member of the both the Executive and FEMBA MBA Programs and reports directly to the Associate Dean of the EMBA and FEMBA Programs. The Director of EMBA/FEMBA Career Strategy and Leadership Development will also have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Executive Director of the Professional MBA Career Management Center (Parker CMC).


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of UCLA Anderson MBA Programs or other MBA Programs or equivalent experience in corporate (Required)
  • ICF certification (ACC minimum) with two years of experience (Preferred)
  • Must have current knowledge of leading trends and literature in leadership development. Solid familiarity with leadership development resources, outsourced providers, experts, and training materials. (Required)
  • Ability to work effectively with UCLA Anderson faculty involved in EMBA/FEMBA leadership development initiatives. (Required)
  • Must possess significant career coaching experience at an executive level in all aspects of career management, and an extensive knowledge of executive-level career development resources. (Required)
  • Familiarity and experience with executive coaching. Possess the ability to provide leadership development/executive coaching to EMBA students. (Preferred)
  • Excellent program development and management skills. Must be experienced in designing, creating and implementing executive-level leadership and career development programs, including needs assessment, and program evaluation and enhancement. (Required)
  • Excellent organizational, time management and execution skills. Must be able to set expectations effectively, follow-up with individuals, organize groups and successfully execute tasks and projects. (Required)
  • Must have appropriate interpersonal skills to manage a diverse and demanding professional adult population. Ability to provide creative solutions for the specific needs of EMBA students. (Required)
  • Demonstrated expertise in networking, marketing and recruiting targeted at executive-level professionals. Possess solid network of contacts with executive-level employment professionals and referral contacts for the EMBA students. (Required)
  • Excellent written and presentation communication skills. (Required)
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and travel on occasion. (Required)
  • Knowledge of computerized scheduling programs, Microsoft Office and website design skills. (Required)
  • Able to represent the school at conferences, seminars, employer forums and other professional. (Required)
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions. (Preferred)
