Serves as the mentor and coach for all team members. Implements strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales while ensuring customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards. About the PositionThe Gas Station Department Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Meijer Express convenience and fuel center, ensuring strong team performance, exceptional customer service, and consistent operational execution. This role leads daily huddles, assigns and follows up on tasks, manages effective shifttoshift communication, and monitors key performance indicators such as labor, financial results, shrink, and inventory accuracy.
In addition to general leadership responsibilities, the Department Supervisor is accountable for managing the gas station operation, including completing required weekly and monthly fuel system inspections, ensuring Meijer Express and fuel equipment compliance, and maintaining food safety standards within the store's Express environment. They work closely with peer leaders to maintain safe, clean, and functioning fuel pumps, address issues through corporate communication channels, and escalate work orders as needed to ensure a safe and efficient fueling experience for customers.
The Gas Station Department Supervisor also supports interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance management for team members, serving as a certified trainer and fostering a culture aligned with Truly Human Service and DE&I expectations. Attendance review, schedule planning, customer escalation handling, and execution of operational standards round out this role's responsibilities, ensuring the Express and fuel center operate smoothly and consistently within company guidelines What You'll be Doing:
