Job Summary: The Finance & Casino Analyst (Summer Internship) will gain hands-on experience in Finance and Accounting by supporting data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities. In addition to finance responsibilities, the intern will assist Casino Operations with day-to-day tasks and participate in a special "Customer Journey" project to identify operational improvements. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop analytical, cross-functional, and operational skills in a dynamic business environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads by example
- Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
Finance Reporting (75%)
- Responsible for the generation of periodic analytical reports to support premium/promotional days, weekly, monthly, and quarterly business operations.
- Track and record daily Card Casino, pari-mutuel, food and beverage, attendance, marketing, and other operational data points for reporting.
- Analyze data to identify trends to inform business partners, management, and executives of business operations.
Accounting & Casino Operations (25%)
- Audit and review daily vault balance sheets and entries to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
- Perform daily sale entries from mutuals, department operations, revenue drop, and cage into a weekly report.
- Perform weekly reconciliation of ATM transactions between Global Payments system and Bally Cage Module using Microsoft Excel.
- Provide operational and administrative support to Casino Operations leadership as needed, gaining exposure to day-to-day casino floor operations and understanding how operational data and processes influence business decisions.
- Assist with table setup, card deck preparation, pit paperwork, and inventory management of cards, layouts, and table supplies to ensure operational readiness.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, forms, event materials, and scheduling support.
- Participate in a cross-functional "Customer Journey" project focused on evaluating the guest experience across multiple touchpoints, providing exposure to operational decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, Analytics, or related field.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required; intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel required. Must be able to pick up or self-teach excel skills quickly.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong desire to evaluate data at a granular level and problem solve.
- Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal relations skills.
- A self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
- Must be able to pass a background check, work history verification, and obtain and maintain a license from the Minnesota Racing Commission.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently holding 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher.
- Experience in the Entertainment, Gaming, or Hospitality industry.
