At CESO, a Market Leader is responsible for leading and growing a defined market sector by driving business development, client engagement, and operational performance. This position serves as the primary business and thought leader for a portfolio of similar clients, with accountability for market strategy, financial results, projections, and program execution. The Market Leader collaborates with their (Sr) Program Directors, Business Development team, Business Unit Leader (BUL), Discipline Leaders and other cross functional leaders to oversee projections, budgets, staffing, and program execution.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the operational and strategic leader for an assigned market sector, providing vision, direction, and oversight for all business activities within the market.
  • Accountable for accuracy of projections, operations, financial performance, marketing and growth of the Market.
  • Develop overall business development strategy to gain market share by adding new clients and/or services. Collaborate with Business Development team to identify new potential clients and develop strategy around how to pursue them.
  • Direct the planning and execution of program/project management operations and procedures that align with corporate standards, ensuring consistent execution across their teams.
  • Identify, train, and develop (Sr) Project Managers and (Sr) Program Directors.
  • Regularly interface with Discipline Leaders within the Business Unit to address opportunities, challenges, areas of improvement, budgets, staffing needs, projections, and short- and long-term forecasts for the market.
  • Assist with onboarding clients within the market and transition them to an identified Client Manager.
  • Ability to translate client needs and market opportunities into actionable programs of work.
  • Responsible for overseeing Project and Program Management within the market area to ensure key financial metrics are tracked, projections are accurate, and programs are financially sound-with an emphasis on driving revenue, profitability, and accounts receivable. Oversees, monitors and reports on market-related operations.
  • Encourages and supports inter-market collaboration.
  • Supervising direct reports is a key responsibility of this job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in (Landscape) Architecture, Engineering, Survey, Business Administration, or related field, with a minimum of 20 years of experience directly managing projects in a design and construction related field is preferred;
  • Or 25 years related experience and/or training is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading client relationships, growing market sectors, and overseeing delivery performance in an A&E or professional services environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Professional Licensure (RA, PE, PS, PLA) is preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Business and/or Leadership Training is preferred.
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Awareness of and familiarity with key corporate software programs to understand their purpose and ensure team compliance with expected usage, including but not limited to Bluebeam, Smartsheet, Mosaic, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Newforma, Paylocity, Lattice, Lever, Deltek, and Power BI etc.
