Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Produces or procures the technical designs for modifications to Utility systems including domestic water, natural gas, compressed air, steam system, chilled/tower water and water treatment, steam and heating water boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, and nitrogen generation systems.
  • Develops the technical requirements for the estimate, design, procurement, construction, maintenance, and operation of the above systems/equipment.
  • Plans, specifies, designs, and manages projects.
  • Supports maintenance and improves the reliability of assets.
  • Interfaces with company organizations, customers, and suppliers to meet company business requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Preferred 5 years' Facilities experience in a Heavy Industrial Plant or similar Mechanical Utility
  • Interface with Operations and Maintenance personnel
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Experience supporting heavy industrial utility systems design
  • Experienced in commissioning of utility systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Utility systems including domestic water, natural gas, compressed air, steam, chilled/tower water and water treatment
  • Large capacity utility generating equipment such as steam and heating water boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, and nitrogen generation systems
  • Preparing cost estimates and/or appropriations requests for capital projects
  • Creating as-built drawings

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $109,000 - $167,150
