As a Security Officer - Unarmed Foot Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic education location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, students, and visitors with helpful customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, observe and report concerns, and communicate clearly while working as part of a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an academic location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, behavioral concerns, and facility-related issues, and report concerns per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards.
• Control access and monitor pedestrian and vehicle traffic in assigned areas, including checking credentials as required and directing individuals to appropriate departments and/or resources.
• Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate updates to supervision and/or campus partners, and use radios, phones, and other systems as required by the site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be 21+ years of age.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
