Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Armed Federal Patrol in Tempe, AZ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control and badge verification, and respond to situations with clear communication and professional customer service. You will document observations, coordinate with site contacts and/or emergency services as needed, and represent Allied Universal with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, a caring culture, and integrity. Armed Guard Card or License required.

Position Type: Flex, with ability to pick up additional shifts at this account.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, providing scene control, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Operate as an armed patrol officer in accordance with Allied Universal policies, state and local regulations, and post requirements, including maintaining proper control and accountability of issued equipment.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate significant events to the site representative and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience OR a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
