Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Patient Liaison - NYU Langone Bariatric Surgery Associates - Garden City.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting patients in completing their insurance requirements and clinical clearances to optimize patient satisfaction at WUH and to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Enter data from Seminar Satisfaction Surveys and Patient Satisfactory Surveys into online survey system. Report pipeline status to Bariatric Coordinator, Practice Manager and surgeons on a monthly basis.
- Ability to function as part of a team and promote teamwork. Organizational skills to accurately keep track of patients status. Time management and multi-tasking capability to monitor numerous patients simultaneously.
- Attend informational seminars and participate in presentation.
- Act as a contact person for all patients questions and concerns. Maintain and manage pipeline on behalf of hospital and practice.
- Call patients to remind them about seminar. Call patients who did not attend seminar within 48 hrs. and invite them to register for the next seminar. Call patients to remind them about appointments for office consults Manage the assignment of patients without a surgeon preference. Field patients calls regarding work-up paperwork.
- Meet with each patient at the end of initial consultation to explain insurance requirements and pre-op work up, as well as take before pictures. Track patients appointments, labs, diagnostic tests, consults and insurance requirements in computer system.
- Proactively call patients in the pipeline every two weeks. Refer specific surgery questions to the surgeon. Interpersonal skills to effectively and accurately communicate with patients. Recognizes and responds to issues that may cause problems andor refers issues through proper chain of command.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings. Maintain patient confidentiality. Responsible for any other duties stipulated by the Practice Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1 - 2 years Related Experience. Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organization skills. Proficiency with computers.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $39,878.31 - $63,421.86 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
