Job Description




As a Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist tenants and visitors with a customer-first approach. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license in the job state. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and support a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout commercial property areas including lobbies, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public services as needed.
  • Control access at designated entry points by observing and verifying identification, directing visitors, and helping maintain orderly foot and vehicle traffic.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incident details in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
