Job Summary

Works on complex procurement assignments where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple purchasing options. Has authority to make purchases within broadly defined dollar limit. Exercises judgment to determine most effective methodology to acquire common goods and services. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, with general direction provided on purchasing assignments that are more complex or unique in nature. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $85,600 - $128,400 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The PERIOP Implant Coordinator at MISSION BAY OR will be part of the team of implant coordinators at Parnassus Moffitt-Long OR, Mount Zion OR, Bayfront OR. Stanyan OR, Hyde OR, Children's Oakland OR, and Children's Walnut Creek OR. They are responsible for coordinating, ordering, and tracking all owned and consigned implants (non-tissue and tissue) required for surgery.

Required Qualifications


  • 3 + years experience in materials management, OR, purchasing, or accounting.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, writing and verbally.
  • Strong level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Knowledge of organization's departments and operations required in order to meet their procurement needs.
  • Knowledge and practice of basic aseptic technique when carrying out assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability for utilization of conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge and practice of basic aseptic technique when carrying out assignments.
  • Requires strong communication skills and proven history of positive interpersonal relations.
  • Business organization and management, tolerance for ambiguity, written and verbal skills, computer aptitude and inventory management skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated mastery prioritization, time management and organization skills required.
  • Ability to move heavy equipment and boxes

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • McKesson inventory management experience
