Summary


The Business Development Director is responsible for managing and growing supplier(s) portfolio by aligning business strategies with supplier goals and leading marketing and sales efforts. This role requires collaboration with sales teams, strategic planning, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.



This role can be based out of either Kent,WA office or the Portland,OR office.



Primary Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with the Sales Department to develop and implement cohesive business strategies that align with and drive company objectives.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, delivering measurable results.
  • Oversee and manage Supplier Marketing Budgets and other related marketing expenditures.
  • Monitor managed product inventory levels to ensure availability while minimizing stock shortages and code date issues.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key supplier partners and their teams.
  • Set priorities and provide detailed tracking reports on performance against Supplier Annual Business Plans (ABPs).
  • Analyze market trends and performance data to identify challenges and opportunities for growth.
  • Support product pricing strategies, including setting discount schedules as needed.
  • Lead the successful launch of new suppliers, products, and brands to the market.
  • Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Consistently uphold and exemplify the Company's Core Values in all professional activities.



Key Competencies



  • In-depth understanding of the beverage alcohol three-tier system, including regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a collaborative approach to achieving team and organizational goals.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities, adept at balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with expertise in project management to drive successful outcomes.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.



Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office environment based in either Kent, WA or Portland, OR. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This job also operates with direct contact to sales teams and customers in the field.



Physical Demands


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.



Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position, days/hours of work vary, and may include weekends.



Travel


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.



Required Education and Experience



  • Demonstrable experience implementing successful business objectives
  • Demonstrable experience driving results and achieving business objectives


Preferred Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's or advanced degree
  • Supplier or Distributor experience
