Job Description




As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol Driver in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot and driving patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with strong customer service and clear communication. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to concerns, and document observations while representing Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first culture. This post requires a valid driver's license.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of corridors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter points, observing for unusual activity and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Control access to restricted areas by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or authorization, and directing individuals to the appropriate destinations.
  • Complete required reports and shift documentation, including incident reports and daily activity logs, and communicate noteworthy conditions during shift turnover.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • New York State Security Guard License required.
  • Security Experience - 6+ Months required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
