Summary of role

We are seeking an exceptional, hands-on Director of IT, Data, Analytics, Information Management, Automation & AI to lead the transformation of our enterprise data and insights capabilities during a period of rapid growth and increasing digital maturity. This leader will own the strategy, architecture, delivery, operations, and cultural evolution of a team that is moving from tactical, request-driven reporting to a strategic, data-driven, AI-enabled enterprise.

The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of deep technical credibility, architectural leadership, transformational change management, and inspirational people leadership. This individual is passionate about building scalable data foundations, enabling self-service analytics, accelerating business productivity through automation, and delivering real-world data, analytics and AI/GenAI solutions that change how the organization operates.

This role will shape the enterprise's journey across the full data and AI maturity spectrum-from fragmented data and application-centric reporting toward standardized master data entities, a governed data marketplace, reusable data products, natural-language insights, AI/Gen AI applications and cross-functional agentic AI orchestration.

This position is based in Massachusetts and requires a presence on-site (two/three) days per week, and open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Enterprise Data Strategy & Transformation



  • Set and execute a multi-year enterprise data, analytics, information management, automation, and AI roadmap aligned with business priorities across all Lantheus functions including R&D, Commercial, TechOps, Quality, Medical, and G&A.
  • Lead the shift from a fragmented, application-centric reporting ecosystem to an enterprise-standardized data foundation with governed, reusable data entities.
  • Establish data integration, mastering, lineage, and governance frameworks that materially improve data quality, accessibility, and trust.
  • Create a searchable enterprise data marketplace and a suite of data products enabling self-service analytics, natural-language data queries, and secure business-friendly discovery and reuse of data assets.
  • Establish Analytics Platforms (BI Tools) Guidance across all functions


Business Partnering and Stakeholder Management



  • Acts as the face of Data from an IT perspective for the enterprise. Manages outcomes focused on business relationships and partnerships with customers, and is accountable for their perception of data, its ease of use and availability, and business value utilization in the enterprise.
  • Ensures ideation, discovery, collection, management, implementation and reporting of functional and cross functional data related use cases
  • Ensures setup and management of customer feedback loops and their perceptions for constructive and continuous improvement in line with organizational goals, customers' expectations and teams career aspirations.


AI, Automation & Analytics Enablement



  • Drive the adoption and delivery of AI and GenAI capabilities, including buy vs. build AI and Gen AI application evaluation, end-to-end lifecycle management, and real business-impact use cases.
  • Lead cross-functional agentic AI orchestration initiatives to solve complex business challenges that can be solutioned with Gen AI with a goal to bring 'good surprises' and innovative business value to customers.
  • Build scalable automation solutions to elevate employee experience and efficiency across all automation areas including RPA, workflow automation, intelligent automation, test automation, chatbots, process mining and optimization
  • Champion end-user productivity and democratized insight creation across all enterprise functions.


Training & Change Management



  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide data, analytics, and AI training strategy to uplift digital literacy and self-service capabilities.
  • Build role-based learning pathways, center-led training programs, and GenAI enablement initiatives across functions.
  • Lead structured organizational change management for all major data, analytics, automation and AI platform introductions.
  • Drive communication plans, stakeholder alignment, and enterprise adoption for new capabilities and operating models.


Governance & Risk Management



  • Establish and operationalize enterprise-wide data governance, stewardship, and data quality management practices including governance and process of data purchased across enterprise functions
  • Define policies for data access, security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI use.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Quality, and Security to ensure alignment with regulatory standards (e.g., GxP, SOX, GDPR, data privacy).
  • Implement governance forums, data councils, and decision-making structures that ensure trust, transparency, and accountability.


Operational & Delivery Excellence



  • Oversee delivery of dashboards, analytics solutions, integrations, data pipelines, and enterprise information management capabilities.
  • Ensure strong partnership and alignment with IT business relationship managers, system owners, enterprise architects, and functional leaders.
  • Mature the team's operating model from reactive/tactical delivery to strategic advisory.


People Leadership & Culture Building



  • Lead and grow a team of managers, architects, data engineers, data product owners, AI/automation developers, and analysts.
  • Proven and demonstrated success in uplifting a tactical team to a high performing team with minimal business impact while having inspirational impact on team members is an absolute must in this role
  • Transform team culture from "order-takers" to trusted enterprise advisors.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, modern engineering practices, business empathy, and experimentation.


Financial & Portfolio Management



  • Own and manages functional and project portfolio budgets, vendor relationships, platform investments, and contract negotiations.
  • Establishes and has extensive experience in setup of financial cost allocation, chargeback, consumption and run operating model alignment with C level business partners including pricing plans, cost optimization for data related costs e.g. data transfer to/from cloud provider environments, what is charged back to non-IT functions and what IT pays for.
  • Evaluate new technologies, platforms, and strategic partners.
  • Prioritize and communicate portfolio demand across run, grow, and transform initiatives


Basic Qualifications



  • 12+ years of progressive experience across enterprise data, analytics, integration, information management, automation, and AI/GenAI.
  • Demonstrated hands-on and architectural depth across modern data/AI platforms.
  • Proven experience driving enterprise transformation toward standardized data, self-service analytics, governed data ecosystems, and AI/GenAI solutions.
  • Strong leadership track record managing managers and director-level leaders.
  • Strong financial management experience.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred.


Ideal Candidate Profile

This leader is equal parts architect, technologist, strategist, and people-builder. They are credible at both the keyboard and the boardroom, work the full stack from strategy to delivery to operations, are energized by complexity, and have proven and demonstratable experience to be able to deliver transformative results in a fast-moving environment.

The candidate would have extensive experience in delivering transformative data, analytics, automation, AI and Gen AI journeys in a global multi-cultural enterprise with real hands-on expertise and delivery experience across key enterprise functions within pharmaceutical industries including R&D, Commercial, PDM, TechOps, Quality and G&A.

Technical Hands-On, Architecture and Process Platform Experiences:



  • Databricks, Informatica, PowerBI, MS Purview, Databricks Unity, Snowflake, Thoughtspot, Starburst, Copilot, Copilot Studio
  • Foundational AI/ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI), core LLMs (GPT-5.1, Claude 4.5, Gemini 3), MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow)
  • Specialized functional GenAI applications in life science industries (off the shelf or custom developed). Implementation expertise in AI/Gen AI COTS applications in specific business functions for quick wins and building momentum in that space is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of ethical AI, governance, and integrating AI into business strategy for data-driven outcomes.
  • Mastery in data processing (Spark), model deployment (Docker, Kubernetes), and tools for analytics, content generation (Wizr AI, GitHub Copilot, Jasper)
  • Automation Tools - UIPath, Blueprism, Power Automate, Aisera, Celonis, Signavio, Tricentis Tosca, Service Now)


Other Requirements



  • Non-routine overnight travel based on business need.

The pay range for this position is between $172,000 and $287,000 annually.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award. Benefits for this position include a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Other offerings include life and disability benefits, pre-tax accounts, a 401(k) with company contribution, and a variety of other benefits.
