Director, AI and Data Product Manager

Job Overview/Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification of new opportunities and development of AI and Data product roadmaps that support GSK's R&D strategies and competitive edge, ensuring delivery of AI and data products that meet our mission and are acknowledged as industry-leading solutions.

  • Foster innovation by systematically exploring, implementing, and evaluating emerging AI technologies. Apply creative problem-solving strategies to address business challenges, while utilizing strategic partnerships and market analysis to inform decision-making.

  • Direct a global team of AI and Data product managers in addressing complex and ambiguous requirements, ensuring significant contributions to GSK's objectives.

  • Recruit and develop AI and data product management talents, set direction/objectives, and manage overall on-time high-quality delivery.

  • Challenge the established procedures and forge cross-functional decision making through system thinking and data-driven principle

  • Matrix leadership to a cross-functional team comprising machine learning developers, forward-deployed engineers, platform engineers, and domain experts, ensuring the achievement of key product milestones.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in clinical operation and pipeline project management to achieve scientifically sound and high-quality AI models and agentic solutions.

  • Hands-on rapid prototyping on AI platform to demonstrate values for business use cases.

  • Develop strong relationships with important stakeholders throughout GSK, clearly convey the benefits of AI/ML, and encourage a data-driven decision-making culture.

  • Promote AI adoption and diffusion through creating intuitive user experiences, developing effective training programs, and iterating based on feedback to maximize impact.

  • Continuously benchmark GSK and external AI/ML capabilities, stay ahead of industry trends, identify opportunities for optimization and innovation to drive great impact and ROI.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, bioinformatics, applied math, statistics or engineering

  • 10+ years product management experience in full AI and Data product lifecycle, including incorporating customer feedback into product requirements, prioritizing features, and overseeing both pre- and post-launch activities.

  • 5+ years' experience in one or more life science R&D domain areas: pre-clinical research, clinical trial design and operation, precision medicine, regulatory science, chemistry, and manufacturing and controls (CMC).

  • 10+ years' experience in people leadership with track record transforming team into upper quartile talent benchmarking against peer companies.

  • Experience of AI/ML model metrics (e.g., F1 and AI-contents evaluation metrics) including human-in-the-loop (HITL) AI/ML monitoring.

  • Proficiency in AI-based tools in market research, product requirements, product prototyping, and user research to enhance efficiency.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical presentations and team objective and product milestone reporting

  • Assess AI model performance metrics and propose implementation strategies to enhance model accuracy and effectiveness.

  • Experience in Agile tool kits such as JIRA or Azure DevOps

  • Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross functional team to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, procurement, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones

  • Hands-on experience in databricks, n8n, LLM, Azure AI stack, GCP AI stack, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in design systems and/or MBA

  • Experience software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and deployment.

  • Enthusiastic and resilient in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid, and creative solutions are key.

  • Experience working in fast-paced start-up companies balancing multiple priorities and marketing campaign for demand generation

* If you are based in Cambridge, MA; Waltham, MA; Rockville, MD; or San Francisco, CA, the annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges $171,600 to $286,000.

The US salary ranges take into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
