OPENTEXT - THE INFORMATION COMPANY THE OPPORTUNITY OpenText is seeking a commercial Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team performing commercial transactional for an established but growing line of business. This is a diverse role that will require negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial technology agreements in support of various North American-region sales activity, including cloud services agreements, software licenses, and professional services. The role is also one of trusted Legal advisor supporting a growing and dynamic line of business, and working with cross-functional groups, researching novel product offerings, and handling escalations are also key components of this position. In this capacity the successful candidate is expected to perform analysis and provide guidance on company transactions as well as new go-to-market products, evaluate risk, update templates, create efficiencies, create and deliver training, and manage projects of benefit to the Legal team and department. Use of AI and the ability to support a business leaning heavily into this field is also an important part of this position. Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off. Salary Range: $130,000- $180,000; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted. California Residents: The pay range above is a reasonable estimate of salary based on pay scale, candidate experience, skills, and education. In addition to the comprehensive benefits noted above, the role may be eligible for bonus or commissions.
