Illustrator / Animator

Our client is seeking a talented Illustrator and Animator on a freelance basis as needed.

Responsibilities:

* Create engaging illustrations, primarily focusing on people, for internal communication materials.

* Develop illustrations in a style that is "not too corporate but not too playful," emphasizing storytelling over hyper-realism.

* Produce basic motion graphics and animations for short videos (e.g., 30-second to 2-minute durations).

* Collaborate closely with internal designers and art directors, receiving and incorporating feedback.

* Deliver final illustration files (e.g., Illustrator) that allow for minor internal adjustments (e.g., skin tones, shirt colors).

* Deliver final animation files in appropriate formats (e.g., MP4).

* Manage varying project workloads and deadlines, including occasional rush projects.

* Potentially work on projects related to benefits, health, and large-scale campaigns.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as an Illustrator with a strong portfolio demonstrating a versatile style suitable for internal communications.

* Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is essential; experience with Adobe Photoshop is also highly desirable.

* Experience with basic animation and motion graphics, capable of producing engaging short videos.

* Ability to illustrate people in diverse settings and contexts.

* Strong understanding of visual storytelling and how to convey messages clearly through illustration.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a creative team.

* Adaptability to different project scopes, timelines, and art direction.

* Ability to deliver organized, editable files for illustrations and final video files for animations.

* Experience with tools like Flip Snack or similar animation platforms is a plus.

* Hourly rate expectation between $80-$125, with flexibility for project-based work.
