Job Summary

The Pipe Fabricator is responsible for assembling, cutting, threading, and preparing pipe orders in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled shop environment. This role requires hands-on experience with machinery such as band saws, pipe threaders, automatic welding machines, and other fabrication equipment. The position emphasizes accuracy, safety, and efficiency in moving, measuring, and preparing pipe for shipping or installation.

Job Responsibilities

• 
  

  Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.

  
  
• 
  

  Assemble pipe orders, maintaining organized work supplies and materials.

  
  
• 
  

  Follow all safety procedures for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.

  
  
• 
  

  Operate powered industrial equipment in compliance with OSHA guidelines and company procedures.

  
  
• 
  

  Set up and maintain machines used for pipe fabrication.

  
  
• 
  

  Measure, record, and accurately cut pipe using band saws or torches.

  
  
• 
  

  Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines or similar equipment.

  
  
• 
  

  Inspect and maintain forklifts and other shop equipment.

  
  

Job Requirements

• 
  

  6-8 months recent experience with pipe fabrication machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting equipment, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.

  
  
• 
  

  Mechanical experience or background, including ability to use tape measures and gauges for quality checks.

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to move and sort pipe ranging from " to 10".

  
  
• 
  

  Strong math skills for calculating product quantities.

  
  
• 
  

  Knowledge of safe work practices in a pipe yard or fabrication shop.

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to read tape measures accurately and operate machinery per instructions.

  
  
• 
  

  Good oral and written communication skills.

  
  
• 
  

  Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

  
  
• 
  

  Basic computer skills for operating automated machinery.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  

  Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6-8 months).

  
  
• 
  

  Backgrounds in auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel equipment, or farm equipment.

  
  

Work Environment

• 
  

  Non-climate-controlled shop; temperatures can become very hot.

  
  
• 
  

  Physically active role requiring movement, lifting, and operation of machinery.
