Job Overview

PACCAR Powertrain is seeking motivated and innovative engineering students to join ourSummer 2026 Internship Program within theEngine Test Labteam. Interns will work hands-on withheavy dutypowertrain systems to support testing, validation, and performance evaluation of PACCAR'snext generationengines and aftertreatment technologies.

What to Expect

  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), in person

  • Duration: Minimum12 weeks

  • Location: Mount Vernon, WA

  • Start Dates: May 18, 2026, or June 22, 2026

Job Responsibilities

AsanEngineTest Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to support testing activities in a world-class engine development environment. You will contribute to:

  • Conducting performance, durability, and emissions tests onheavydutyengines and powertrain systems

  • Supporting validation of new engine hardware, software, and aftertreatment components

  • Designing and building tools or fixtures to improve powertrain testing efficiency, emissions measurement, and data processing workflows

  • Troubleshooting issues with test cell instrumentation and data acquisition systems

  • Analyzing test data using tools such as AVL Concerto

  • Assistingwith technical report preparation and documentation updates for instrumentation and data acquisition systems

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently injuniororsenioryear of a bachelor's degree program (graduation 2026-2027) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics), other STEM fields, or related discipline.

  • Strong computer and data analysis skills

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with ETL technicians and engineering staff

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Enrollment in a master's program

  • Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition, or powertrain systems

  • Familiarity with AVL Concerto, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools
