The Landman, working under limited supervision, is responsible for providing assistance in moderately complex land matters for oil and gas exploration and production activities. The role will work within an interdisciplinary team to manage a drilling and operations schedule that supports the company's goals and objectives. The role involves providing support in the evaluation and acquisition of oil and gas leases including determination of mineral and leasehold ownership. The role reviews title opinion and regulatory requirements, and consults with attorneys, other land professionals, and various stakeholders to resolve title issues, mitigate risks, and streamline processes. The role is responsible for the drafting, negotiation, interpretation, and maintenance of all agreements related to exploration and production. * Provides support of exploration and development by negotiating the disposition of leasehold rights, including drafting agreements such as Purchase and Sale Agreements, Farm out Agreements, Exploration Agreements, and Joint Operating Agreements. * Coordinates the collection and evaluation of land, commercial, and regulatory data from internal and external sources. Coordinates the acquisition of and reviews record title ownership and cures title deficiencies brought forth within title opinions. Supports preparation and compliance of orders and permits issued by federal or other regulatory agencies. * Organizes and completes multiple concurrent land projects, prioritizes deadlines, and communicates effectively, demonstrating autonomy in decision-making and providing strategic technical recommendations to leadership. * Interprets provisions in leases, contracts, regulatory orders, and laws to assess risks and ensure accurate maintenance of Land data. Monitor all upcoming lease obligations. Provides asset and operations teams with information critical to ongoing production from and development of properties. Advises Land Analysts of changes to lease records. * Fields inquiries from mineral owners and working interest partners. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influences at all levels. Maintains and fosters public and community relations that demonstrate excellent corporate stewardship and integrity. * Contributes substantially to moderately complex land projects, providing innovative land management solutions leveraging diverse expertise, technical land management knowledge, and business acumen to identify opportunities, recognize issues, resolve problems, and make recommendations to achieve objectives. Leads concurrent efforts and mentors others. * Stays informed about legal and regulatory changes affecting land management. Analyzes market trends and provides insights to support decision-making. Education:* Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management, Business Administration or any other related discipline, Juris Doctorate, and/or commensurate work experience is required. Experience:* 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as Leasing and Negotiation, Land Transaction Due Diligence, Contract Drafting or a related field. Industry experience is required. Preferably a member of Member American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL).
