Description

A primary responsibility of the Career & Technical Education Recruiter is to attract, engage, and enroll students into career and technical education programs offered by the college. They will collaborate with educational institutions in Illinois and Indiana, industry partners, and community organizations to promote the college's CTE programs and facilitate the recruitment process.


Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Attend college fairs and community events to promote the college's programs and resources
  2. Give classroom presentations to high school students at in-district high schools and some in Indiana
  3. Provide information and guidance to prospective students regarding CTE program options, admission requirements, and career pathways.
  4. Assist students in the application and enrollment process, ensuring a smooth transition into the college's CTE programs.
  5. Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, including contact information for prospective students and partners.
  6. Other related duties as assigned.

Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

Experience Requirements:
  • Prefer community college recruitment/experience

Knowledge:
  • Recruitment of students; community colleges and higher education. Familiarity with CTE programs and their relevance in the workforce

Skills:
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of students and staff; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills

Personal Requirements:
  • Ability to work effectively with the administration, faculty, and staff of the college and high school schools; ability to work with business leaders; ability to relate to students and parents.
Physical:
Possess a valid driver's license; travel throughout the LLC district continuously; travel throughout the state of Illinois and Indiana. Transport and set up display equipment. Work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to visually and manually access computer screens and electronic student records in a software package used by the college; ability to manually input data; ability to lift and transport 50 lbs.
