Position Highlights The Office of General Education and Curricular Affairs is hiring an Administrative Support Professional. The goals for this position are to foster effective collaboration between the Office of General Education, Curricular Affairs, and UWGEC to support the delivery of high-quality general education curriculum that ensures student learning and success.

Working closely with the Director for Office of General Education, this individual will be responsible for coordinating the "life cycle" of General Education courses by providing administrative support with initial course proposals, routing through the CA and UWGEC approvals processes, and the recertification process of the GE courses within the curriculum.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Education Administrative
* Support proposers, instructors, and Colleges on the process for submitting new GE courses and modifying GE courses.
* Maintain electronic archives with all course proposal information, Box/Google Drive files/folders (~ 500 courses). Review documentation notes and update various files accordingly and notify personnel when documents are ready for review.
* Provide administrative support for the GE Course Recertification process including delegating reviews to UWGEC and communicating the outcomes of the recertification process with instructors, Colleges, and Curricular Affairs.
* Pull relevant data and create reports from UAnalytics for GE courses, instructor lists, and other information as needed.
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to the University-Wide General Education Committee (UWGEC), meeting facilitation, minute taking, quorum management, voting administration, and recordkeeping.
* Coordinate orientation and onboarding for UWGEC Chairs, committee members, and OGE staff.
* Manage UWGEC communications, including listserv updates, website content, and committee correspondence.
* Oversee the creation, distribution, and archiving of official UWGEC decisions and vote notices, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication to faculty, departments, and Colleges.

Curricular Affairs
* Facilitate the routing and approval processes for General Education courses between departments, UWGEC, and Curricular Affairs within the stated dates and deadlines for course approvals and updates to the GE program.
* Maintain ongoing communication with course proposers, instructors, and departmental representatives to provide updates on proposal status and facilitate timely completion of the review process.
* Update course proposal forms, training materials, website and routing procedures as needed to reflect current GE curriculum practices.
* Assist with UAccess management, cross-check and catalog document submissions and enter/update information into UAccess.
* Serve as the primary liaison with Curricular Affairs and GE, ensuring compliance with deadlines, approval requirements, and procedural consistency between GE and CA.
* Assist with course approvals as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
