| Position Highlights |
Arizona Public Media (AZPM) is seeking an Account Executive for its Underwriting Department to solicit and secure new and/or continuing program underwriting agreements for a variety of media platforms including Television, Radio, and Online. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Secure financial commitments for Radio and Television programs, website and various events in the form of underwriting/sponsorships from the business community, individuals, foundations, agencies and media buyers.
- Act as a liaison to the community; build and sustain strong relationships with our current and future supporters.
- Develop and maintain all revenue generating accounts; prospecting, initiating sales calls, sales appointments, presentations, proposals, and closing agreements.
- Supply internal accounting and reporting to service and maintain accounts.
- Work with clients to produce underwriting credits and/or web ads.
- Develop personal contacts and maintain good relationships with businesses,
corporations, advertising agencies and underwriters to solicit underwriting agreements on behalf of AZPM. - Prepare proposals and negotiate rates for AZPM platforming.
- Work with TV Creative Services to write and help produce TV underwriting spots.
- Write copy adhering to AZPM guidelines and FCC policies for non-commercial public broadcasters.
- Monitor traffic, production, and billing for underwriting agreements to minimize errors and maximize quality control.
- Negotiate adjustments and credits; handle underwriting complaints and concerns.
- Participate in on-air fundraising and other development department efforts as needed and/or requested.
- Work with the AZPM Business Office on collections.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals by platform.
- Collect payments from their accounts in a timely manner.
- Attend activities related to Corporate Development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability and success meeting sales goals.
- Understanding of the advertising process for TV, Radio, and online platforms.
- Demonstrated familiarity with media marketing and promotions and new business development.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse staff in a major university market.
- Ability to analyze and interpret marketing data.
- Excellent communication skills with knowledge of handling customers and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with lV and Radio production procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of public broadcasting.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Five years media sales experience.
- TV, Radio, and web sales experience.
- Experience with Nielsen a plus.
- Experience working for and/or with a public broadcasting station.
