POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitate the "Career Ready" program that will engage students with career exposure, preparation and resources upon acceptance, throughout their time enrolled, and after graduation as alumni.
  • Track and report employment outcomes to college leadership.
  • Recruit, support, and guide the career services team.
  • Work closely with academic leadership and faculty to integrate career readiness into courses and campus activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to expand internships, jobs, and networking for students and alumni.
  • Represent Career Services in media communication.
  • Organize workshops, networking events, career fairs, expos, and employer panels aligned with workforce trends and student interests.
  • Create and evaluate initiatives to remove employment barriers for underrepresented groups and foster equitable career readiness.
  • Continuously assess and enhance career services to ensure their relevance and effectiveness for all stakeholders.
  • Advise students and alumni on career planning, industry trends, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of workforce trends, technological advancements, and best practices in career services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs and database management systems and demonstrate proficiency given adequate training.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts that speak to productivity and effective decision-making. Ability to read and interpret charts, graphs and other visually-presented data. Ability to work within stated budget requirements; be fiscally responsible.
  • To perform the job successfully, must have adequate knowledge of and willingness to use specialized software such as PowerCAMPUS, Great Plains, Adobe Products, SolidWorks, PowerFAIDS, Canvas, ticketing systems and/or other databases/electronic aids, in order to be as self-sufficient as possible in day-to-day operations. Use and maintain shared network folders to greatly limit reliance on personally stored items and documents.
  • While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to use hands to feel or handle/manipulate objects. Frequently required to sit, lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 25-50 pounds. Must possess good vision and depth perception. Individual is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to climb stairs, set up/tear down displays, etc. Work is frequently performed inside, with occasional outdoor duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in career services or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain employer partnerships and deliver effective career development programming.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with career management platforms and data analysis tools.
  • Commitment to equity in career services practices.
  • Autonomy and self-direction.
