Primary Function The Maintenance Specialist (HVAC Mechanic) performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working in commercial or institutional settings and be capable of independently diagnosing and repairing HVAC and boiler systems. Essential Duties
Operate, repair, and replace components on all HVAC systems Inspect and perform reoccurring preventative maintenance on all direct or indirect expansion air conditioning systems, evaporative units, and associated equipment to include air handlers, fan coils, ducting, electric and pneumatic operating controls, and chilled water systems Perform periodic inspections and follow outage reporting procedures for all air conditioning units supporting critical facilities Inspect, operate, repair, replacement components of and perform reoccurring preventative maintenance on all gas and oil-fired hot water boilers, forced air furnaces, and associated heating system components Inspect, operate, repair, replacement components of and maintain air compressors and associated components to include distribution piping and regulation of pneumatic control air Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, operation, repair and maintenance on all ice machines and associated components to include incoming water lines Maintain, repair, and replace ice machine RO units Monitor, maintain tanks with government supplied diesel fuel and propane tanks that supply hot water boilers and force air furnaces Install electrical components and wiring Inspect and test HVACR systems and components Discuss system malfunctions with customer Repair or replace worn or defective parts Recommend maintenance to improve system performance Keeps record of work performed Follow all industry regulations Ability to work as a team player while working cohesively with all levels of clients, customers, and others to ensure contract success Able to work independently, analyze situations, and make decisions with minimal supervision

Computer literacy and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently Comfort in gathering and disseminating information Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc. Ability to follow a process. Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures. Ability to multi-task efficiently. Ability to work independently to complete assignments and solve problems Knowledge of relevant standards Strong understanding of safety practices in industrial or government facilities.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent A minimum of 2 year work experience Previous military / government Logistics experience preferred, but not required. Ability to maintain a government security clearance. Ability to pass background and drug screening.
Working Environment This is an on-site, fast-paced multi-tasking customer service-oriented environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities.This position is normally 5 days a week M-F. However, weekends and after-hours support may be required.
