About This Role:

An Executive Partner (EP) in the Forrester executive program for technology executive is a client's trusted advisor and thought partner. By building deep relationships with clients and their teams, this individual:

  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of a client's key priorities, company environment, and personal aspirations.
  • Provides candid, actionable feedback on strategies/initiatives.
  • Helps clients identify and make decisions critical to success.
  • Brings the best of the Forrester ecosystem (spanning research, consulting, and events) to clients in a timely, tailored fashion.

This role is integral to helping senior technology executives and their teams develop customer-focused, high-performance IT strategies that allow their organizations to be adaptable, resilient, and creative.

Success in this position entails managing the internal Forrester research and sales ecosystems. As a full member of Forrester Research, EPs identify potential research topics, connect researchers with forward-looking clients, and participate in research interviews. In partnership with sales, EPs communicate Forrester's value proposition to clients, identify opportunities for consulting support, and contribute directly to Forrester's revenue goals for the executive programs business.

Job Description:

The CIO Executive Partner handles client delivery and retention, identifies sales expansion opportunities for Forrester, and possesses relevant executive-level technology expertise and strategic thought leadership that help challenge clients. Specifically, the Executive Partner:

  • Serves as a strategic business advisor to executive program clients, advising them by applying Forrester's research and drawing upon their own practitioner experience.
  • Manages 15 to 20 senior client relationships.
  • Partners with sales and customer service teams to deepen client account relationships.
  • Creates a comprehensive delivery plan grounded in Forrester's intellectual property (e.g., decision tools, frameworks, and research).
  • Represents the voice of the customer to assist research with content creation.
  • Provides proactive business development support to Forrester's sales organization, helping to develop and nurture existing opportunities identified by sales.
  • Represents Forrester on social media channels and by speaking at external events as a thought leader.

Job Requirements:

  • Fifteen-plus years of proven experience in technology leadership either as:
  • A chief information officer (CIO), chief technology officer (CTO), chief digital officer (CDO), or other senior technology executive.
  • A senior consultant to those in technology leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of the IT industry and the role of the CIO (including digital transformation, executive management, change management, cybersecurity, business model innovation, automation and intelligent systems, digital strategy, and trends, use of metrics, etc.).
  • In-depth understanding of the business value of IT and the alignment of business and IT strategies.
  • A strong executive presence; the ability to create positive impressions with C-suite executives through all channels of communication.
  • Strong collaboration, partnering, and influencing skills.
  • Embodiment of the following Forrester's values: client focus, collaboration, courage, integrity, and quality.
  • Superior presentation skills.

Please note that the base salary range indicated here is inclusive of all applicable US geographies listed in this requisition, with the exception of New York City and Georgia. This salary range is based upon the position as described in the job listing. The offered compensation may vary within this range and is dependent upon the successful candidate's primary work location, experience, training, education, and credentials.

Base salary range: $180,000 - 294,000

Base salary range for Georgia: $162,000 - $264,000

Base salary range for New York City, NY: $207,000 - 339,000

For employees based in Washington State, the percentage listed here is an estimated bonus target as a percentage of base salary,in accordance with the Forrester Employee Bonus plan. Individual and company performance, as well as other eligibility criteria, will determine the actual incentive amount.

Bonus target: 15%
