The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 31.01 USD - 46.51 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Technician - 2nd Shift is a key contributor to ensuring that all products manufactured at the SouthSide Soap Box facility meet SC Johnson's rigorous safety, quality, and compliance standards. This hands-on role performs routine laboratory testing, supports real-time production decisions, and maintains an organized, audit-ready environment aligned with ISO 22716 and GMP principles. The technician collaborates closely with production teams, quality leadership, and cross-functional partners to troubleshoot issues, support quality investigations, and uphold consistent product excellence across all shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with GMP ISO 22716 principles, internal quality standards and adherence to procedures.
  • Review incoming COAs and verify that documentation aligns correctly with product specifications, part numbers and PO requirements.
  • Communicate quality concerns, test failures or specifications deviations to the Quality Manager in a timely manner.
  • Support troubleshooting activities by gathering samples, evidence and clear documentation.
  • Assist in preparing quality reports, trend summaries and metric KPI updates for shift huddles or weekly quality meetings.
  • Partipcate in supplier- related quality checks by evaluating incoming materials.
  • Perform microbiological -related tasks, including sampling handling, coordination of testing, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in physical science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-3 years of quality or laboratory experience in a manufacturing, consumer goods, or similar regulated environment.
  • Hands - on experience or working knowledge of microbiological testing, including the ability to work in an aseptic or controlled laboratory environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills abilities with the capability to troubleshoot issues in real time. Fast paced production, Strong computer skills, effective communication skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS:

  • Prior experience in home care, personal care, chemical or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 22716, GMP or other principles or other regulated quality systems.
  • ASQ certification (e.g., CQIA) or equivalent quality related certification or formal training preferred.
  • Exposure to auditing activities, internal audits, supplier audits, or certification such as BSI.
  • Hands-on experience working with SAP, RedZone, Smartsheet, or similar production. Quality software.
  • Background supporting NCR investigation CAPA activities, or supplier quality evaluations.
  • Ability to analyze quality data, interpret specifications and COAs, and collaborate across shifts.
  • Strong data analysis capability with experience trending quality results or preparing reports.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple shifts in high volume production environments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full time, 2nd shift position based at SouthSide Soap Box Chicago Facility.
  • Typical work schedule aligns with production needs, overtime, may be required based on business demand.
  • <10% travel, primary for training cross-site support or supplier visit.
  • On-site manufacturing role, remote work is not applicable for this position.
  • Physical demands include the ability to lift to 30lbs and stand for extended periods during laboratory and production activities.
  • Work performed in both laboratory and production environments, requiring use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
  • This role is not eligible for relocation
