Production Associate (TEMP)

About the role:

10x Genomics is looking for a Production Associate to join its consumable manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for production consumable products associated with Next Generation Sequencing chemistry. This role requires excellent laboratory skills in performing production operations consistently.

This is a 6 month contractor role supporting the 10x Visium HD manufacturing team. This individual must be a self-starter, quick learner and detail oriented, work well in a team atmosphere, have good communication skills, ability to adapt and thrive in working at a fast-paced environment.

What you will be doing:

• Execute production operations according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure the integrity and quality of products
• Perform reagent formulation while safely handling corrosive/flammable chemicals and fragile glassware
• Operate liquid handling robotic system and complex manufacturing equipment for production biochemistry under supervision
• Operate and maintain laboratory to clean room standards required in the production of Life Science products
• Process work orders accurately using an ERP system in a timely manner
• Draft Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and troubleshoot moderate manufacturing issues to support continuous improvement and compliance efforts
• Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of production, testing, and inventory data
• Disposition material based on QC and production data
• Provide guidance and support to peers to ensure successful execution
• Identifies issues in production labs and escalate issues appropriately
• Contributes meaningfully to the efficiency, quality, and overall success of the manufacturing operation
• Consistently meets deadlines, takes ownership of assigned work, and holds oneself accountable for outcomes and deliverables

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S./M.S. in one of the following disciplines - Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
• 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in manufacturing or QC of Life Science products
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load to meet strict deadlines under supervision
• Effective communicator skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to clearly relay production issues and updates
• Motivated to contribute to a fast-paced, evolving organization by driving continuous improvement in products and processes

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Basic understanding of industry manufacturing workflow and ERP systems
• Basic understanding of DNA sequencing, PCR or other nucleic acid based technologies and relevant experience
• Relevant experience in a production environment working with standard production control tools - ERP, LIMS, inventory control, work orders
• Experience with liquid handling robotic system
• Experience with common lab equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, thermocyclers, microscopes, etc.
