Provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all basic engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems. Works closely supervised and solves problems of limited scope and complexity.


Responsibilities

  • Document field progress in JobConnect
  • Based on active communication and coordination with the Project Superintendent, document 3 week look aheads for field leaders
  • Coordinate with foreman and communicate look aheads with dates. Identify, document, and communicate work constraints that hinder reaching milestone dates.
  • Create weekly and monthly Field Impact Logs to communicate predecessor activities to the Project Leadership Team
  • Perform Quality Assurance function (i.e. ensure that the field leads are filling out their QC check-lists)
  • Working in JobConnect (MC Dean's construction management platform) and updating forms to include testing and commissioning forms.
  • Attend daily ORM's and document ORM board in JobConnect.
  • Document field issues on behalf of foreman and communicate those issues back to the APL/PL/Project Engineers
  • Attend weekly GC pull planning / last planner meetings and document the results of the meeting.
  • Track down RFI responses and hand deliver them to foremen.
  • Updating the drawings to incorporate RFI's and create conformed record sets of drawings based on RFI responses.
  • Perform as-built documentation on behalf of the foremen in Bluebeam.
  • Walk the field once a week with foreman and drawings and identify changes or differences from shop drawings to field installs. Transfer these changes to electronic documents.
  • Keep running punch list based on information above and document "loose ends" for field team to complete.
  • Coordinate with general contractor's "field engineers" and communicate this information back to team and GC.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED with 6+ years of experience.

Abilities:

  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
