Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Quality Engineer with experience in aerospace or defense electronics and mechanical manufacturing. This role focuses on ensuring the quality of mission-critical hardware products from design through production, testing, and supplier management.

The ideal candidate has practical experience in hardware manufacturing or assembly, expertise with MRB, CAPA, and AS9100 compliance, and a proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve hardware processes.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings; manage nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and oversee CAPA for internal teams and suppliers.
  • Inspect and verify hardware assemblies, wiring, plating, and mechanical components against engineering drawings, MIL-SPECs, and customer requirements.
  • Support supplier quality audits, source inspections, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in design and production readiness reviews to prevent manufacturing issues early.
  • Apply Lean and Zero Defects methodologies to improve process capability and eliminate defects.
  • Maintain quality documentation in compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and customer standards.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace/defense hardware quality engineering or electronics/mechanical manufacturing quality.
  • Hands-on experience with MRB, CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality inspections.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, MIL-SPECs, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR/EAR restrictions.


Preferred Skills



  • Experience with APQP, Zero Defects Planning, or Defense OEMs (NGC, Raytheon, Lockheed).
  • Familiarity with special processes: plating, painting, wiring, environmental testing.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with suppliers and engage with customers on quality improvements.
  • Knowledge of quality reporting and analytics tools.


Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 (based on experience and qualifications).
